The Algarve region, the famous coastal area of Portugal

Situated in the southernmost part of Portugal, this area was the last part of Portugal the king conquered from the Moors in 1292. Traces of Moorish presence can still be found today in the unique architecture, the terraces and white houses.

Distances were hard to cover in the 13th century, but today, thanks to the highway from Lisbon to Albufeira and the airport at Faro, there are no obstacles to explore this region with its ideal climate for playing golf and practicing numerous watersports.

In the north of the Algarve region, the mountains of Espinhação de Cão, Monchique and Caldeirão protect the coastline from heavy winds. The magnificent, colourful landscape with its pine trees, fig trees, orange plantations and almond blossoms is one of the greenest and most fertile areas of Portugal. The southern coastline consists of a long row of wonderful beaches, alternated here and there by extraordinary cliffs, spectacular caves in the ocean and many small, separate beaches.

Apart from the luxury of the several sporting facilities that are present (the yacht harbours of Villamoura, Albufeira, Portimão and Lagos deserve to be mentioned among the many small ports) there are various other alternatives, such as tennis courts, famous golf courses, luxurious hotels, excellent holiday resorts and a sparkling nightlife. Absolutely healthy

The Algarve region is an absolutely healthy area. Many thousands of seamiles with fresh, unpolluted, healthy marine winds directly into your face. This is quite a change from the increasingly polluted Mediterranean.

The surroundings

The apartment complex of Clube Nautilus is beautifully situated on a rock formation directly on the Atlantic coast, offering spectacular views of the ocean. A lovely subtropical garden with palm trees and a large variety of plants surrounds the complex. The apartments themselves are built around a magnificent swimming pool.

Playful green patios with plants and trees have been created in between the apartments. Clube Nautilus is situated on the edge of a tourist town with the typical characteristics of the Algarve region, with beautiful beaches, for instance a beach from which the local traditional fishermen depart for sea. There are also many traditional restaurants, typical Portuguese shops, souvenir shops and good general facilities.

The deep blue ocean is close to and well within reach from the apartment complex; the nearby beach is spacious, clean and cosy. If you want to be all by yourself, you can also go to one of the many secluded beaches between the rocks and cliffs of the coastline. The truly magnificent surroundings of the village are definitely worth a look!

The apartments

The apartments of Clube Nautilus are magnificently built and stylishly furbished and decorated. Everything in the complex is aimed at making your stay as comfortable as possible. There is a choice of apartments with one (T1), two (T2) or three (T3) bedrooms. The largest apartment can house a maximum of 11 persons. Each apartment is provided with all the necessary comforts and has one or more balconies, a spacious living room, a well equipped kitchen and a beautiful and clean bathroom and toilet.
